Artist Spotlight: J.L.
Bolivar,Tennessee native Jawaskia Lake, more commonly known as "JL" is an up and coming R&B singer, songwriter and producer. He released his first EP album "The Appetizer" on April 10, 2012, which he sold many copies through Internet distribution such as ITunes and Cdbaby. His leading singles "Paint A Picture" & "Let You Go" started getting noticed by many djs and radio stations. Through that, JL gained multiple show opportunities opening for national artists such as Calvin Richardson, The Barkays, Ginuwine, Urban Mystic,and more. While making his own way in the music business, JL also toured with Memphis,TN based group "Perfection" which was nominated for a Stellar Award in 2011. JL has written and produced music for artists such Novakane (who topped the billboards charts in 2009) and Oscar Winning Artist- Frayser Boy. He is now back in the studio working on his Sophomore project "Sounds Of Me" scheduled to release later this year.

Artist Spotlight - F Zero
With a number of records and mixtapes already to his name, South London native F-Zero today unveils his newest single, titled “What Love Can Do”. The Frostman’s latest release is another ingenious mélange of Grime, Electronic, Dance and Dubstep sounds, whilst also discussing issues, emotions and reflections of “What Love Can Do”. The brand new release is a follow on release from F-Zero’s Ground Zero mixtape.
F-Zero musical story began when he first started making music at the age of 12. The talented emcee notes key childhood musical influencers as: Nas, Jay z, Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Ginuwine Aaliyah, Big pun, and a long list of off hip hop / rnb musicians.
Frostman’s (F-Zero) first “serious” musical moves came at the age of 16 when he decided to join music 'crew' Flame Syndicate. The crew included a number of talented emcees, DJs and producers, all sharing the same passion for creating music. Grime artist Lowdeep was part of Flame Syndicate, and has since become one of the biggest underground producers at the time ‘Grime’ was at its peak.

King Braswell: Man, Im honored to interview you, I featured you on here when I first started this site but I fell off a bit. Now I got it back up and running and pushing it to the fullest. Tell the people where you from?
Sk: I'm from St. Louis Mo I grew up in Berkeley but I can't just say one side because the whole city made me who I am today.
King Braswell: Kool! When I first heard your stuff, I was like this dude is gonna blow, good content, and a unique voice. Do you get props on the way your vocals are?
SK: Yes all the time and when I say I'm from St.Louis people say I couldn't be that's not a Midwest sound at all then I reply I didn't know that was a rule we all should sound a like. Lol
King Braswell: You are definitely different from whats out here right now.
SK: Good look'n bruh I try to stay on my sh*t and craft the type of music that I like if they digg it cool if not that's cool to but it don't go out if I don't approve it so in my eyes it's a win.
King Braswell: I feel ya on that! When did you start rapping?
Sk: I can't really pinpoint the time I started but I can say I wanted to play ball I just knew I was gone be a ball player then this music sh*t took over lol. #NLM
Who are some of the artists that you grew up on?
Sk: if I start now ill be naming all day you can't just say some so I'm a just say a lot of oldies.
King Braswell: Do you listen to your own stuff, I know alot of artists who say they do not like there voices.
Sk: Yes I do I love my voice and I love how every song is different I mean the sound that I give off over each beat.
King Braswell: What are your goals, do you want to sign to a major, or do you wanna keep it independent.
Sk: Who knows right now I just want to make my music then later on we can talk numbers lol.
King Braswell: How many projects do you have out there right now?
Sk: I have like 9 tapes out and 2 more coming in a few mouths
King Braswell: Do you like to perform?
SK: Yes it's one of my favorite things about this profession to me that's how you get your fans to really feel you they need that face time no iPhone. Lol
King Braswell: What are you working on right now?
Sk: We are work'n on 2 tapes at the same time one will be out next mouth or early November called Make History The MixTape we work'n bruh, #kendrickLamar I'm coming.
King Braswell: Do you have a certain type of beats you like?
Sk: No not really what ever catch my ear I will go on.
King Braswell: I was really feeling that beat on your song "In the Sun". Thats the style of beats that I make.
Sk: That's wuz up bruh but the crazy part about it is that's Curren$y beat, I f*ck with that beat hard so I had to go off on that one.
King Braswell: I would have never known that if you didn't say anything, LOL!

Interview: Producer Major Keys!
We recently had a chance to interview Queens Producer, Major Keys
King: Whats up dude, it feels good to interview a fellow producer?
MK: Thanks for having me! I'm always happy to share my music views and interests with others.
King: Where are you from?
MK: I was born in Queens, NY. Residing in Virginia at the present moment.
King: How long have you been producing?
MK: I been producing music for a while now. But just started taking it seriously about 5 years ago.
King: Do you have a certain type of beat that you enjoy making?
King: Im a hip hop head myslef, I like the boom bap sound with the samples!
MK: Well I enjoy making all kinds of beats. I like producing club sounding beats, but my passion is working with samples as well!
King: Do you play any instruments?
MK: Yes I played the violin from sixth grade, all the way up to my junior year in college. I also
took piano as a minor which I need to brush up on! Lol
King: Im trying to learn the piano, trying to teach myself!
MK: I feel once you learn how to play the piano, you can play ANY instrument. It really helps with the melodies in your production.
King Braswell: I agree, thats why Im trying to learn it! What do you use to make your beats?
MK: I have used the Korg Triton, which I feel most comfortable with. I also have used the MPC 2500, and FL Studio.
King Braswell: I went through your catalog, and I was impressed. You got some good prices on those tracks too.
MK: I know many artists struggle enough paying for promo. So I decided instead of giving out free beats, I would charge a very affordable price to make their journey to success a little easiar. When artists pay and invest in their career, it lets you know they are serious.
King Braswell: I can def dig dat!
King Braswell: Who are your fav producers of all time?
MK: Well since I became a Hip-Hop head in the early 90's to the present, I would have to say all that produced for the Wu-Tang Clan (RZA, Mathmatics, 4th Disciple), Havoc, Alchemist, Just Blaze, and Timbaland would be the producers that inspired me the most.
King: Great list Dude! If you could work with one famous Artist, who would it be?
Mk: Jay-Z
King: Jay-Z, cool. I wouldn't mind working with him, but I would have to bring him back to that to the reasonable doubt days.
King: Are you working on any projects right now?
MK: Yes I'm working with many indie artists such as @Crefdini, @PotentOfficial (U.K.), @JayWheelz_CEO, @ADayWithNat, @Trobblesum1 just to name a few.

King Braswell: What's Going on bro, how ya been?
Nico: Sup yo, I´ve been doin´ cool, thank God, withe girl complicated but I´m Okay, me. Yeah!... I´m working very hard to get a team of managers, actually I have 5, promoting me and trying to get events in Guadalajara, Queretaro (2), Long Beach and Mexico City. As we work as a team, we don´t sign nothing until next year. I´m searching for sponsors in all Mexico & USA, products to promote...
King Braswell: So you are from Mexico right?
Nico: Yeah, born at Guadalajara, Jalisco (where the GOOD & original tekila´s at), and now I live in Queretaro, Queretaro, Mexico. Just down United States :)
King Braswell: Whats the rap scene like over there?
Nico: Well, the big fight is the Street Rap/Gangsta vs Love Rap/Commercial.
King Braswell: How long have you been rapping, and how did you get started?
Nico: Well since I start to write rhymes, 11 years, I started at street hustling in Guadalajara w/cocaine, then pot, pills, etc (at age of 8-10years), cuz my mom punished to me badly, I slept on the streets of the hood 5650, start to see all that, move some, get in trouble, and at the age of 11 I recorded my 1st demo at home, mixing and mastering at EMUSA records & photos by a friend named Roberto Solorzano. I made my 1st demo in edition Instrumental, Clean & Explicit Lyrics (physical), only making copies of the Clean & Explicit versions.
King Braswell: Do you have a specific style?
Nico: Well I do Underground, that would be like the Original Rap, Gangsta, Party, Ego Rap, I made one Chopped & Screwed, Dirty South, Hip Hop, Informative, I don´t go to only one kind of style, I express my self in the style I am.
King Braswell: Who were some of the people that influenced you?
Nico: Absolutely Eminem with D12 and the instrumentals I heard
King Braswell: I noticed that you rap in your language on a lot of the songs, I don't know what you were saying, but I'm digging it. LOL
Nico: Well I try to tell the people, rappers, artist of all world to be honest, cool with everybody, that we don´t need bad language to do Rap or some things I know.
King Braswell: I can did that!
King Braswell: What do you think about the current state of hip hop?
Nico: Well, I think that the investment in general in the music industry is kindly important, same as important is to do good stuff, like Lady Gaga, Souljaboy and also Wayne, in this days, they have a lot of bad comments. If they have fame, why not do good music? The Hip Hop industry I guess as the dollar or world is in the last step. Look Brazil, look war in Syria, Egypt, Afrika... Here in Mexico is PRETTY CRAZY THE POLICE & LAWS FORCES... The War Rap, Street Rap, Real Rap is the good thing, no just say sh*t or make noises... I guess
King Braswell: So do you have any projects out?
Nico: Well I have in mind some project's that are: 1-Make my cd "Mc Nulty music" remixed with a famous Mexican band named CAMILA (drum's feat) making Rock-Rap, and some extra songs. 2- #MexiHood (cd of more than 15 feats all around Mexico finishing with a mass National Tour) and 3- Make a Love cd, named "Todo pasa por algo", prdduced like Everything happens for some reason. With about 6 songs and only 1 feat. 4-Make a National tour.
King Braswell: What are you working on now?
Music events, my next single featuring my 1st music video and sell it in itunes, amazon, etc, international... Then the 2nd single, and Cds and other stuff.
King Braswell: Is it going to be for sell, or a freebie like a lot of artist choose to do?
Nico: Most of the new material I´m working in, you will be able to buy it on itunes, amazon, etc... Just one or 2 materials will be free. To get specific things.

Nico: Well anything that is a beautiful art, I can get in to it. Is like a connection, or like when a girl is cute for me, I feel identify a lot with that girl, is the same for searching the good beat, the good instrumental, the great one, you know what I´m saying.
King Braswell: I can understand that. Many rappers are stuck on the same suff!

King Braswell: What's Going on Chitty, how ya been?
Young Chitty: Hey whats good homie? I've been good ya know? Just blueprinting, trying to build a empire brick by brick. Trying to stay consistent.
King Braswell: I feel ya!
King Braswell: Well Im pretty familiar with your work, but I never knew where you were from?
Young Chitty: I appreciate that man. I'm from Paso Robles, CA. Treeville City. Right on the Central Coast between The Bay & LA
King Braswell: Whats the rap scene like over there?
Young Chitty: The rap scene out here is like a big mixing pot. Theres so many different artists & different styles. It took a minute but I think the Central Coast is starting to get its shine.
King Braswell: How long have you been rapping, and how did you get started?
Young Chitty: Ah man let me think. Its been about 13 years or so. I got my start just messing around, recording on this old ass cassette recorder. Haha. I would take this lil boombox & try to line it up perfect & just go in like that. Just one taking everything & if I messed up, I would have to redo the whole song. So it was good for practice but thats about it.

Young Chitty: Thats a good question. I don't really put myself in a category cuz I try to do it all. I just make that shit you could ride to, smoke to, do whatever to. I'm just trying to make a dope soundtrack to live life to ya know what I'm saying? Just doing me to the fullest remaining hungry & humble
King Braswell: Who were some of the people that your grew up listening to?
Young Chitty: Well I'd say I grew up on a bit of everything. Like 2pac, Snoop Dogg & Tha Dogg Pound, E-40, Too Short, N.W.A., Scarface & The Geto Boys, U.G.K., Digital Underground, Biggie, Bone Thugs, DJ Quik, N2Deep, & the list goes on. I'm a straight product of this rap shit. Man I was even knockin that 2 Live Crew. Lol.
King Braswell: U got some good taste, I had all of them on repeat back in the day. I still listen to all of those dudes.
King Braswell: What do you have in your ipod right this minute
Young Chitty: Right now I been slappin Problem, Iamsu, Nipsey Hussle, Smigg Dirtee to name a few but I always gotta keep that old school in the mix as well. Got that Dr. Dre "The Chronic", E-40 "In A Major Way, Tha Dogg Pound "Dogg Food" in there too. I was born in the 80's but I was raised in the 90's

King Braswell: What do you think about the current state of hip hop?
Young Chitty: Right now I'm diggin the way things are sounding. I realize that music goes around in trends so I'm just trying to stay up with the times ya know?
King Braswell: I know that you have projects out, but how many?
Young Chitty: I got a total of 21 projects out now.
King Braswell: Are you working on anything at the moment?
Young Chitty: Yeah right now I'm workin on this Treeville Tycoonin mixtape which will be dropping on 11/29/13 (Black Friday). Me & Sixx Figgaz is getting ready to start on this Digi Dope Gang DGOE2 (Dope Gang Over Everythang 2) which should be out sometime top of 2014. I got a few other ones I'm working on but those will be the next ones up. Also coming real soon we're gonna be launching our Fresh Allegiance Apparel clothing line which we're almost ready to drop.
King Braswell: Who are you going to have on the album ?
Young Chitty: On this Treeville Tycoonin I've been knockin out a lot of solo tracks but for sure I got Sixx Figgaz on it & a couple cats out of my area as well. Right now I'm sitting on about 50 tracks or so for this project so far so we'll have to wait & see what makes the final cut.

Young Chitty: I got so many different producers that I rock with its too many to name. Theres hella talented producers out there that got them bangers!

Kingbraswell: First of all let me say that you will go down in history on this site, You will be the first to be interviewed LOL.
Ldot: DOPE!!! HA!
Kingbraswell: OK, So tell me where are you from?
Ldot: I'm from northern California , born and raised in the bay area.
Kingbraswell: OK, I kind of felt like thats where u were from by looking at the video. Yall had that cali style!
Kingbraswell: Notice I said Style, not swagg, I hate that dam word.
Ldot: The TRUE definition of swag has something to do with interior decorating!! LMAO
Kingbraswell: LOL, I def feel u. Thats why I dont use that word!
Kingbraswell: So how long have you been rapping?
Ldot510: about 12 years
Kingbraswell: OK, so you been at it for a while. Can you describe your style?
Ldot: I've never tried to put my style in a box. The only thing I can say to describe it is that, what you hear from me, is JUST ME! At the end of the day, if someone is trying to define themselves a certain way , they're trying too hard! Music is expression , so I express myself by what feels right and natural by MY standards....no one else's!

Kingbraswell33: I can really dig that. I feel like if more people were being themselves, more of there songs would sound different. Who do you know that's the same way all of the time, you know what I mean?
Ldot: True. Gotta be YOU instead of trying to be someone else and impress all them. That shit is lame!
Kingbraswell: Right. So you are from Cali, I love the west coast. What is the music scene looking like out there right now. I know those guys out there have always killed the independent game.
Ldot: The independant thing is really big here because of the devision we have. What I mean is , there is no unity, or if there is , a very small amount! So the only way to get heard out here is to do it yourself. Don't get me wrong, the bay has always been on a unified mind set , but everyone isn't willing to throw us hand-outs which makes a Cali artist work harder. It's almost a blessing in disquise.
Kingbraswell: Well, I can identify with that. I am from Macon, Georgia. We are right down the street from the ATL. We have a whole style of our own, but these dudes will not stick together for shit.
Ldot: I personally know and work with a handful of DOPE artists who have alot to offer to the hip hop scene , but have to build it brick by brick. No deals are given nowadays until you're a working machine already! Business MUST come 1st!
Kingbraswell: True, and the way things are right now, you can record in your house, package your own shit, shoot your own vids, and promote your own shows. If us artists were to band together, big money can be made.
Ldot: REAL SHIT....but it'll never happen!! HAHAHA! That's why record labels work the way they do. If we all banded together, they'd be broke!
Kingbraswell: Thats one of the visions I have for my website. I plan own building relationships with artists like you and your team, so we can figure out a way to get this dam money.

Ldot: HAHA! That's dope!! I love meeting people with the same musical background as me! We sit in the studio sometimes just playing old shit and shit we grew-up on and just vibing!
Kingbraswell: Right Right! Ok, so thats back then, What About now? Who are you feeling right now in the game. As for me, I not with none of the new shit thats out unless it is on some indie shit. Im stuck in the 90's fa sho!
Ldot: You ain't stuck , it was by far the best time in hiphop! I feel you.

Kingbraswell: OK, you mentioned ASAP Rocky, he has his moments like you said. Have not heard the Jacka in a while. Now Ghostface is probably in my top 5. I grew to love GFK about 7 years ago. Dude is sick with the lyrics and imagination.
Ldot: WU TAng Clan somehow didn't make my list when u asked me , but they are definately in my top 5 too. Not so much U-god and Gza and Capadonna and Masta Killa , but Meth , GFK , and Raekwon 4 sure!
Kingbraswell: Feel u on that. U-GOd and Masta are my least, but Gza and Cap got a few tricks with the words!
Kingbraswell: Enough of the other artists, Lets get into your shit. Are you currently signed right now or do you have your own label or looking?
Ldot: Not signed , not really shopping for a label....just staying on my own terms. I've been blessed to be able to know some really dope artists from around me that are generous enough to share their knowledge and experiences with me and include me in their circles where I can ride my own lane. I'm making music people love and the rest will come with time and effort.
Kingbraswell: TRU TRU! It is a blessing to have a good network around you. So how many projects do you have out right now?
Ldot: I have about 8 that I've released. I'm currently about to release a new solo project titled " My World In Words , My Mind In Rhymes" and my group Endangered Artforms is finishing up our album titled "State Of The Art". My bro Keyd and I are working on a 2nd edition to our duo (Heavily Sedated) titled "Comatose" and I'm always knocking down tracks for my next mixtape....9 songs deep and no title yet though! HAHA!
Kingbraswell: Dam, you 8 albums in, and working on about 4 more. You def getting it in!
Kingbraswell: Whats your favorite project out of them all?
Ldot: That's a tough one! All of them stand out for different reasons because they document my growth, both as an artist and as a person. I can listen to older shit and remenice about that time in my life and what motivated me to write thiose songs so it's not that cut and dry like one is my favorite. But if I had to choose, my newest titled "C'est La Vie" has gotten alot of good reviews.
Ldot: I should mention too , my new album that I told you bout' is what I'm really looking forward to! Produced by only one producer, De'La Musik! That's my lil brother from another mother

Artist Spotlight: Jon 0h
With his mother going into labor no more than thirty minutes after 12:00 am December 25, 1985 "Jon-oh" Jonathan Scott, without even knowing it had the makings of someone special. With a well renowned hairdresser/fashion designer for a mother, and a father of the same status barber/drug dealer, you could say, "He was natural born hustler".
With his father fleeing the state an hour after his birth, (due to impending drug charges) Jon-oh had no choice but to look up to his older siblings for guidance. Once he saw that they were trying to crash the music scene he quickly picked up a pencil and pad. "I was fascinated by the ciphers, conversations about studio time, and when I heard them on tape for the 1st time, it propelled a young player." He started writing songs in elementary school, and in middle school Jon- oh had started recording him-self to cassette tapes and passing them to anyone who cared to listen. When he reached high school Jon-oh got together with peers, one of whom was his 1st cousin and began recording EPs in his cousin's bedroom, once again slanging 'em across school. Through hard work and determination, Jon-oh managed to have a full-on recording studio by the age of 19. Jon-oh recorded local artist and musicians as well as himself.
While everything seemed to be coming into play, life behind the music was exactly what it depicted, a struggle. Jon-oh worked multiple jobs, sold drugs, CDs, and studio sessions to keep his mother, as well as himself afloat. "I suffered from several run-ins with the law, brushes with death whilst trying to keep up with this hectic lifestyle, money was a necessity", claims the rapper. "I hated to see my mother hurt or want for something, plus I had to have the best studio equipment, cloths, weed, etc" laughs Jon-oh. Nothing could ever defer, or stop him from reaching his goal though.
Jon-oh decided to leave the streets where they were and put his full focus on his true talent. With the past behind him Jon-oh hit the studio and streets hard, but with music promotion in mind this time. "I lost a lot of time dealing with bullsh*t, that I felt I desperately needed to compensate for, I always put my all into 9-5's, and excelled quickly in any workplace, so I figured I could do the same for self,
and be as profitable," and he did just that. He put together his own promo material (CDs, flyers, posters, t-shirts) and began hitting local venues performing, and collaborating with other local acts to push his career forward.
Seeing that he could only go but so far in his own city Jon-oh hit the open road with huge aspirations. "I saw and studied successful independent rappers, took into account how they just basically pushed themselves to make it happen, and declared I'm next." Jon-oh tracks rap shows in the southeastern region, doing whatever he could to make attendance and perform. Some acts include Lil Boosie,
